The Board of Trustees has decided to postpone the 125th Celebration that was planned for this summer. Since this may feel reminiscent of the comedy Groundhog Day, about a weatherman who keeps on reliving the same day… over and over, we hope that shifting it forward two years will move us beyond the uncertainty of the pandemic and finally bring us together for a joyous celebration of Pasquaney. We now plan to celebrate Pasquaney and its 130th Season in August of 2024. For those who have already registered, we are issuing a refund. Because this is disappointing news, I wanted to share our thinking.
While we are delighted to see COVID begin to recede, we are not yet confident that we can have the type of event all of us want. We are hopeful that by August cases will have reached new lows; however, we feel reluctant to ask attendees to commit to travel and lodging when a new spike or variant might disrupt plans at the last minute.
We also want to make sure Pasquaney can provide a great experience for the boys this summer. Last spring, developing protocols in response to changing health guidelines took a huge amount of time and energy of the council and Mr. Michael. Hopefully this spring’s preparations will not be as all-consuming. We are eager for a normal summer, but we want to make sure that should COVID continue to be a challenge Mr. Michael and the council will have the time they need to plan an exceptional summer program for the boys.
We are disappointed to postpone the 125th yet again, and we hope you understand why we think it is the best path for our guests and for the boys. We are as excited as ever to get together to celebrate Pasquaney’s 130th season in August of 2024. Please be on the lookout for more information to follow.
